Global Glamour Meets Heritage: Miss World 2025 Shines in Hyderabad
Hyderabad has officially transformed into a global epicenter of glamour, culture, and purpose as the 72nd Miss World pageant kicked off in spectacular fashion. The city welcomed over 110 contestants from around the world for a month-long celebration, making it one of the largest and most diverse editions in the pageant’s history.
The festivities began at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, where Telangana’s rich cultural heritage took center stage. The opening ceremony dazzled with performances such as the Perini Natyam and traditional dances representing every continent, while contestants made their entrance in national attire, each carrying their country’s flag. India’s own Nandini Gupta, winner of Femina Miss India World 2023, led the home contingent, drawing enthusiastic applause.
The Miss World event, running from May 7 to May 31, is not just about beauty-it’s a platform for humanitarian values under the theme Beauty with a Purpose. Contestants will participate in breast cancer awareness campaigns, heritage walks, and visits to UNESCO sites like Ramappa Temple, as well as cultural tours of Telangana’s historic and artisan villages.
Security has been heightened across Hyderabad and at all event venues, with the government making elaborate arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of both delegates and visitors. The city’s hospitality and vibrant atmosphere have already won praise from international guests and the Miss World Organization.
The competition’s key highlights include the Top Model Finale on May 24, the Beauty with a Purpose event on May 26, and the much-anticipated grand finale on May 31 at HITEX Exhibition Centre, where the next Miss World will be crowned. The state government is leveraging the event to showcase Telangana’s tourism, technology, and cultural achievements to a global audience.
For the first time, Telangana Tourism is offering complimentary passes to the public, allowing local and international fans to witness the spectacle live by registering online.
Despite regional tensions and calls for cancellation, Hyderabad’s commitment to hosting a safe, inclusive, and world-class event remains unwavering. The Miss World 2025 pageant is poised to leave a lasting legacy, uniting nations through the shared values of beauty, culture, and purpose.
