Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged the elimination of caste and economic disparities as a pre-requisite for India's path to a fully developed nation. Addressing Ayodhya while inaugurating the revamped Sant Ravidas temple and its new Satsang Bhawan, Adityanath underlined that social harmony and inclusive growth are preconditions for national progress.

Key Highlights

Yogi Adityanath said that India can attain real development only by putting an end to caste and economic inequalities, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a fair and equitable society in the spirit of Sant Ravidas's teachings.

The Chief Minister referred to the role played by Sant Ravidas in history when, in times of foreign attacks, he steered society toward oneness and resisted social vices, vain rituals, and superstitions. He emphasized karma (action) and clean thinking, citing the saint's immortal saying that Godliness is for everyone, no matter what the social class is.

Adityanath spoke of the transformation of Ayodhya, citing its becoming India's first solar city and continuing infrastructure development. He referred to new roads, an international airport, and other schemes as representing the new face of the city and the government's focus on inclusive development.

The Chief Minister assured leaders from different marginalized groups of the government's commitment to see that development reaches all sections of society. He also advocated for timely monitoring and implementation of all development projects in progress in the area.

Adityanath's statement comes in the backdrop of a larger effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to project economic development and social reforms, such as major investments in agriculture, infrastructure, and welfare programs for the disadvantaged sections.

By invoking Sant Ravidas' legacy and emphasizing social as well as economic inclusion, Yogi Adityanath framed the battle against inequality as central to India's vision of development.
