Let Wisdom Reign: Murmu Bats for Buddha’s Path in Building a United India

President Droupadi Murmu on Buddha Purnima festival urged people to adopt the timeless values of peace, harmony, and equality of Lord Buddha to help achieve a harmonious and prosperous Bharat. The President, in her message, said that the adoption of the philosophy of Buddha was necessary to ensure unity and social harmony during this war-stricken and unsure world. She highlighted how compassion and non-violence values can guide people and the nation towards common good and sustainable development.

 

Buddha Purnima, in honor of the birth of Gautam Buddha, makes us recall India's rich spiritual heritage and its ongoing commitment to peace and human dignity. The President's appeal has a resonance in this year's global Vesak Day theme: "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity; Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development".
