In a pioneering development for the global hospitality industry, the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has officially launched "NamAIste – IIHM Hospitality GPT," which is the first generative AI-driven knowledge engine dedicated solely to the hospitality industry on the planet. The launch, which took place at IIHM's Global Campus in Kolkata, was broadcasted to the world, showing a momentous advancement in India's "Make in India" engineering innovations and support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a Viksit Bharat.

An initiative of Dr. Suborno Bose, IIHM Chairman, NamAIste was developed in collaboration with Entiovi Technologies, and is a colleague-specific Large Language Model (LLM) to provide real-time best-practice knowledge, research and insights curated for hospitality students, educators and practitioners. NamAIste is unlike a conventional chat bot and search engine; it provides university style hospitality-specific knowledge sourced from across the hospitality segments - 60 nations; can be delivered in multiple languages; understands industry nuances and can vary its response depending on the context presented.

As part of the launch event, Dr. Bose commented: "the industry is ready to accept it. The industry is waiting. Its a global mind changer. It is not a tech marvel but the dawn of a new way of thinking and the dawn of reimaging things." Dr. Bose articulated that NamAIste will be intentionally provided to the next generation of hospitality headquarters leaders, business leaders with smart tools and ultimately empowered innovation in service delivery and education.

Industry leaders considered the launch and introduction of NamAIste as a monumental and transformative step. Manish Dayya, and General Manager, Sofitel, BKC Mumbai, observed, "A proud moment for India"; and Sabrina Dey, General Manager, ITC Windsor, Bengaluru, remarked that NamAIste is "truly a gift...not only to India, but to the global hospitality community."

The benefits of NamAIste will include the ability to transform hospitality education and training; provide instant access to knowledge for standard operating procedures and processes, as well as service innovation; and support the global community with an uniquely Indian technology.

As Dr. Bose concluded: "AI cannot change the human factor. Our industry is a people industry. Its for the people. It will always be an industry of smiles and hospitable character. AI will help us each and every time to make sure we purposefully rise to the customer expectation and work and apply AI in a different way."

With today’s launch it is likely safe to assume that India, as a nation, will take its place on the globe amongst hospitality innovators and present a gift to the world in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) hospitality driven models.
