Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and his three crewmates have officially entered quarantine ahead of their Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The mission, scheduled for launch on June 8, marks the first time an Indian astronaut will visit the ISS.

Historic First for India: Shukla, an Indian Air Force officer, will serve as the pilot for the mission, alongside Peggy Whitson (Commander), Slawosz Uznanski (Poland), and Tibor Kapu (Hungary).
Launch Details: The crew will lift off from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, aboard a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket, carrying a Dragon spacecraft.
Mission Objectives: The 14-day mission will focus on microgravity research, technology demonstrations, and global outreach activities.
ISRO’s Investment: India’s ISRO has paid ₹550 crore for Shukla’s participation, aiming to gain experience for the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight program.
