Hugs and Inspiration: Sushmita Sen Lifts Nitanshi Goel at the Pinkvilla Awards!

At the Pinkvilla Screen & Style Icons Awards 2025 in a touching moment, Sushmita Sen applauded and hugged Nitanshi Goel, who was awarded the Best Debut Female for her performance in Laapataa Ladies. The encounter was part of a warm video shared by Nitanshi's mom, Rashi Goel. At some point in the interaction, Sushmita said, "Congratulations, what an actor," to which Nitanshi, in pure excitement, replied, "You saying this to me has made my day.".

 

Sushmita's counsel to the young actress was to "stay grounded," as she knew what a promising future lay ahead. Sushmita acted in the film Laapataa Ladies, which was directed by Kiran Rao. The movie received huge applause and was even chosen as India's official entry for the Oscars 2025. The movie tells the story of two brides who accidentally exchange places while traveling on a train, depicting both humor and depth.
