India’s rich and diverse food culture has earned global acclaim, with six Indian cities making it to TasteAtlas’s 2025 list of the 100 Best Food Cities in the World. Leading the charge is Mumbai, ranked 5th globally, celebrated for its vibrant street food—from vada pav and pav bhaji to Bombay biryani and ragda pattice.
 
Joining Mumbai are:
  • Amritsar (43rd): Known for buttery kulchas, creamy lassis, and ghee-laden Punjabi fare

  • Chennai (75th): Celebrated for dosas, idlis, Chettinad curries, and iconic filter coffee
