Bhuj is gearing up for a historic day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the city on May 26 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 33 transformative development projects worth a staggering ₹53,414 crore. This visit marks Modi’s first trip to Kutch since Operation Sindoor and comes amid a wave of anticipation and celebration across Gujarat.

The Prime Minister's itinerary includes a ceremonial event at Bhuj, where he will address a huge public rally attended by over one lakh people. The highlight is the e-inauguration of Mata na Madh Master Plan at Ashapura Dham—a revered spiritual site for lakhs of pilgrims—where comprehensive redevelopment has enhanced pilgrims' facilities, further endorsing Gujarat's shift to revamp its religious tourism front.

17 of the 33 projects with a worth of ₹2,292 crore would be inaugurated, consisting of major energy and infrastructure development projects such as substations, solar power plant facilities, new highways, and port terminals. The most prominent among them include Jamnagar's 210 MW solar PV project, Laija-Motati Kothara Coastal Highway, and the significant upgrades to Deendayal Port Authority.

The foundation stones of 14 other projects totaling ₹50,661 crore will also be laid by the Prime Minister virtually. They include mega projects like ₹35,000 crore Khawda to Nagpur 800 KV HVDC transmission line, ₹8,850 crore Ultra Super Critical Tapi-Ukai Thermal Power Plant, and ₹150 crore Kandla Green Hydrogen Production Unit.

The local BJP unit is orchestrating large-scale celebrations, including a 1,000-meter-long tricolor flag salute and a patriotic music event, underscoring the pride and excitement surrounding Modi’s visit and the ambitious development agenda set to reshape the region’s future.
