Navi Mumbai's Global Dream: India's First International Education City Takes Shape

Maharashtra is set to launch India’s first-ever International Education City in Navi Mumbai, aiming to transform the state into a global hub for higher education. As part of the initiative, Letters of Intent (LOIs) will be granted to five top-ranked foreign universities, allowing them to establish campuses in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Key Highlights:
Five prestigious universities to set up campuses, including the University of Aberdeen, University of York, University of Western Australia, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Istituto Europeo di Design (IED).
Project led by CIDCO, strategically located within a 5-km radius of Navi Mumbai International Airport for global accessibility.
LOI Granting Ceremony scheduled at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai, attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, CM Devendra Fadnavis, and other dignitaries.
Education City aims to foster multicultural academic exchange, enhancing India’s global education footprint.
Part of Maharashtra’s ‘Mumbai Rising’ initiative, positioning the state as a leading destination for international education.
This landmark project is expected to boost India’s academic standards and attract students from across the world.
