As part of a major step towards the development of bilateral relations and socio-economic growth, India and Nepal have inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for 10 high-impact community development schemes. The initiatives, worth NRs 625 million, target the development of education, health, and cultural infrastructure in Nepal.

Education Sector: Development of three new schools—Sanba Secondary School at Taplejung, Ninyukharka Secondary School at Gulmi, Naya Gaun Secondary School at Rupandehi, Siddhanath Secondary School at Kailali, and Shree Satyavadi Secondary School at Bajhang.

Healthcare Sector: Construction of two health post buildings at Sindhupalchowk and one hospital at Humla.

Cultural Development: Construction of Ngagyur Nyngma Palyul Dhongag Chholing Monastery at Solukhumbu and an e-library at Shree Rastriya Primary School at Chitwan.

Implementation: Local government organizations such as metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities will implement projects.

Historical Context: From 2003 to date, India has provided assistance to more than 573 similar projects in Nepal, with 495 of them having already been completed, addressing sectors such as education, health, roads, and social welfare.
The projects highlight India's interest in Nepal's development through infrastructure strengthening in key sectors, socio-economic growth, and strengthening people-to-people links between the two countries.
