Wipro Consumer Care Ventures made its foray into the pet food business by investing in Goofy Tails, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) pet nutrition business. This is Wipro's third 2025 and 15th overall investment from its venture capital fund.
Strategic Expansion with Pet Care
Wipro Consumer Care Ventures has invested its whole first fund and is now launching Fund II, with a corpus of Rs 250 crore.
The investment in Goofy Tails is also part of Wipro's move to empower digital-first consumer brands in Southeast Asia and India.
Indian pet food market is anticipated to expand to USD 1.7 billion by FY31, of which dog food will account for 70% and cat food will account for 30%.
Goofy Tails' Growth and Market Share
Goofy Tails, founded in 2021, has catered to more than 200,000 pets through online marketplaces, quick commerce websites, and their website.
The company retails cat and dog food, freeze-dried products, vitamins, and treats.
Its latest pre-Series A funding is worth over USD 1 million and brings total capital raised by Goofy Tails to USD 2 million.
Future Opportunities and Innovation
The investment would help Goofy Tails scale business and reach more pet parents in India.
The company aims to spur research and development more rapidly, focusing on new product development.
Wipro's execution capabilities and strategic knowledge will allow Goofy Tails to extend its products and reach.
