Indian racing star Kush Maini has made it a necessity that his immediate priority is excelling in Formula 2, not his high-profile role as Alpine's Formula 1 reserve driver. "F2 hasn't really gone as I would have hoped, though we've also seen flashes of pace and potential. I've been able to get another year in F2; goal is to fight for the championship," Maini stated, revealing a pragmatic approach to his motorsport career.

Maini, who nearly abandoned motorsport in 2021 due to financial constraints, now balances F2 racing with regular visits to the F1 paddock. He acknowledges that a strong F2 record can translate into an F1 drive down the line, but states emphatically, "F2 before F1 for me right now." His focus is on having a breakout season, as much for personal achievement as for increasing India's visibility on the world motorsport stage.
