The Punjab government has embarked on an ambitious 54-day ribbon-cutting drive, marking a transformative chapter in the state's education sector. This initiative, part of the "Sikhya Kranti" program, aims to inaugurate new and upgraded infrastructure across over 10,000 government schools, showcasing the state's commitment to enhancing educational facilities.
The drive, which began today, will see the unveiling of approximately 25,000 projects, including new classrooms, repaired boundary walls, modernized washrooms, and smart classrooms equipped with interactive panels. The total investment for these projects is estimated at Rs 2,000 crore, with Rs 20 crore allocated specifically for inauguration ceremonies and plaques.
Each school will host ribbon-cutting events attended by dignitaries such as the Chief Minister, Education Minister, and local MLAs. The plaques, made of granite, will commemorate the contributions of these leaders, symbolizing the collaborative effort behind this educational transformation.
This initiative not only highlights the government's focus on infrastructure development but also underscores its dedication to creating a conducive learning environment for students across Punjab.
