Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has achieved a significant milestone with the successful trial run of a diesel locomotive on the 13.15 km connectivity track between the Kazipet Rail Manufacturing Unit (RMU) and Kazipet Railway Station. Spread across 160 acres, the Kazipet unit is designed to strengthen India’s railway infrastructure by manufacturing and supplying modern coaches.
The trial run marks the formal integration of the RMU with the Indian Railways operational system, paving the way for commissioning and future production. Officials confirmed that the track will enable manufactured coaches to be transported directly to railway zones and divisions nationwide.
