Runway Rescue: Indian and US Air Forces Team Up for C-17 Miracle in Jaipur

A remarkable display of international military cooperation unfolded in Jaipur as a joint team from the Indian Air Force (IAF) and United States Air Force (USAF) successfully resolved a technical snag on a USAF C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. The incident, which began when the aircraft developed a malfunction in its landing gear shortly after the visit of US Vice President J.D. Vance, left the massive transport plane grounded at Jaipur Airport for nearly two weeks.

 

Despite persistent efforts by the USAF technical crew, the issue proved challenging until the IAF dispatched a specialized maintenance team to assist. Working seamlessly under established logistics cooperation frameworks, both teams rapidly mobilized critical equipment and expertise. Their combined efforts led to the successful repair of the aircraft, restoring it to operational status and enabling its imminent departure back to the US.
