It was a sparkling start to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for India as they defeated Bangladesh by six wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Shubman Gill batted anchor with an unbeaten century, scoring 101 from 129 balls, while Mohammed Shami claimed five wickets for 53 runs, wreaking havoc on the Bangladesh batting.
Bangladesh, opting to bat first, struggled early on, collapsing to 35-5. However, Towhid Hridoy’s resilient 100 and Jaker Ali’s 68 helped them reach a total of 228. India chased down the target comfortably in 46.3 overs, with Gill and KL Rahul (41) steering the team home.
India is now ranked second in Group A and will face Pakistan next.
