Goa Carbon Ltd declared temporary shutdown of its Bilaspur Unit, located at 34-40, Sector B, Sirgitti Industrial Area, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, for maintenance activities. The shutdown began on June 22, 2025, as per its latest filing with the stock exchanges.
 
The Bilaspur plant, the lowest capacity plant of the company with 40,000 tons of calcined petroleum coke (CPC) per annum, has also witnessed such maintenance shutdowns in the recent past. The company again emphasizes that this is a routine process to maintain operational efficiency and equipment reliability. Goa Carbon's products are raw materials of prime importance for aluminium smelting, the manufacture of graphite electrodes and titanium dioxide, and its products play a commanding role in a wide range of metallurgical and chemical processes.
 
The length of the current shutdown has not been disclosed by the company but has given the stakeholders the assurance of resuming the production after the maintenance process. The temporary shutdowns of the Bilaspur unit for the past quarters have varied from a few days to two weeks based on the extent of the maintenance.
