Tamil Nadu is scripting a quiet revolution in India’s startup landscape, aiming to become the country’s innovation capital. At the Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit 2025, the State showcased its inclusive, policy-driven strategy to nurture startups into strategic collaborators.
	
	Key highlights of the initiative:
	
	1. Tamil Nadu’s DPIIT-registered startups have grown six-fold in four years, from 2,032 to over 12,100.
	2. Fifty percent of these startups are women-led, reflecting a strong push for inclusive entrepreneurship.
	3. Through TANSEED, the State offers seed grants of ₹10 lakh to startups and ₹15 lakh to women-led, green-tech, and rural ventures.
	4. So far, 169 startups have received ₹18.79 crore in grants, attracting ₹537 crore in follow-on investments.
	5. Chennai ranks 18th in Asia’s Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2024 and among the top 10 for affordable talent.
	6. Tamil Nadu leads India in incubator count and is recognized as a model innovation ecosystem.
