West Bengal Celebrates Rabindra Jayanti with Cultural Festivities  

Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated across West Bengal with deep cultural pride and reverence, marking the 164th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The day was observed with traditional fervor, featuring music, dance, and literary tributes to the Nobel laureate.  

Celebration Highlights:  
- In Santiniketan, home to Visva-Bharati University founded by Tagore, the day began with devotional songs and morning processions, followed by Brahma worship and Vedic chanting.  
- Schools, colleges, and cultural organizations across Kolkata hosted art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and musical tributes.  
- Many admirers visited Tagore’s ancestral house in Jorasanko, where special programs were held to honor his legacy.  
- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shared a tribute, quoting Tagore’s poem “Where the mind is without fear,” emphasizing unity and cultural heritage.  
- Santiniketan celebrated its first Rabindra Jayanti since receiving World Heritage status, drawing scholars, artists, and visitors from across the state.
