Rajasthan Royals teenager prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, has ended the speculation regarding his mental well-being following his IPL debut. After his dismissal in his first game, Suryavanshi was seen rubbing his eyes while walking towards the dugout, and it was assumed that he had been in tears. However, in an emotional video interview with Musheer Khan following the recent Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals game, Suryavanshi set the record straight.
When did I cry? Let me explain. My eyes were hurting a lot. When I went out, I could see the big screen and the light went directly into my eyes. So I had to rub my eyes," Suryavanshi explained. He also added, "When I went out, people started asking me why I cried. I didn't cry! My eyes were hurting.".
The teen opener, who had already made waves with a six off his first ball in the IPL and the fastest Indian century in IPL history two matches later, explained that the moment was misunderstood and he was not overcome with emotion, but was fighting eye irritation caused by the light at the stadium.
