ONGC and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd Sign MoU for Battery Storage Collaboration

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) value chain. The collaboration, announced at India Energy Week 2025, aims to develop utility-scale energy storage systems, grid stabilization services, and renewable energy integration solutions. This partnership aligns with India's goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030. ONGC Chairman Arun Kumar Singh emphasized the company's commitment to clean energy initiatives, while TPREL CEO Deepesh Nanda highlighted the crucial role of battery storage in India's energy transition.
