Paytm Cuts Ties with Third-Party Platforms: A New Era of Direct Payment Processing Begins

Paytm Payments Services Limited (PPSL) has recently made a notable change in the way it works, which comes into effect starting April 1, 2025. It will discontinue processing transactions by third-party routers such as Juspay in favor of processing transactions directly with its own payment gateway. The move makes Paytm join peer companies such as Razorpay and Cashfree who have recently also made such transitions. The move has been made in the backdrop of increasing rivalry between fintech orchestration platforms and payment aggregators in India's fintech market. Paytm has encouraged merchants to switch to the new system prior to the deadline so that service isn't disrupted. This strategic change will provide Paytm with more control over processing transactions and can actually increase its market strength.
