PM Modi Celebrates Union Budget 2025: No Income Tax for ₹12 Lakh Earners

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently praised the Union Budget 2025, labeling it as the "most middle-class friendly Budget in India's history." Speaking at a rally in RK Puram, he highlighted that individuals earning up to ₹12 lakh will now pay no income tax, contrasting this with historical tax burdens. Modi remarked that during Jawaharlal Nehru's time, a ₹12 lakh income would have seen one-fourth going to taxes, and under Indira Gandhi, nearly ₹10 lakh would have been taxed. This budget marks a significant shift in tax policy aimed at benefiting the middle class.
