Power Grid Corporation Invests ₹6.73 Billion in Transformer Procurement

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has approved an investment of ₹6.73 billion for the procurement of transformers. This strategic move aligns with the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen India's power transmission infrastructure. The investment comes as POWERGRID continues to expand its capabilities, with recent reports indicating a capital expenditure of over ₹22,000 crores in the fiscal year 2024-25 (up to February 2025). This procurement is likely part of POWERGRID's broader strategy to ensure adequate transformer capacity for future projects, as highlighted by CMD RK Tyagi in a recent statement.
