Promoting Voluntary Health Screening Among Young People

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has introduced an Intensified Special Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening Campaign for prevention and control of NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancers. The campaign extending up to March 31, 2025, has as its objective the screening of all citizens who are 30 years and above. The campaign consists of door-to-door visit, real-time monitoring, and a daily review of progress. The campaign stresses the importance of early detection, timely intervention, and raising awareness about the significance of voluntary health check-ups, focusing on the youth.

One major topic covered in the campaign is the alarming rates of cardiac arrests occurring among youths because of bad lifestyles.
