Quality Control Concerns: Sun Pharma and Zydus Recall Products

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Zydus Pharmaceuticals are recalling some products in the US market because of manufacturing problems, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). Sun Pharma is recalling 9,840 bottles of Morphine Sulfate extended-release tablets because of "Failed Dissolution Specifications." This February 6, 2025, Class II recall was prompted. Zydus Pharmaceuticals is recalling 38,871 vials of Nelarabine Injection, which is utilized in cancer treatment, for "Failed Impurities/Degradation Specifications." Included in the recall are 36,978 vials launched in February and a further 1,893 vials recalled on February 13, 2025. Both recalls are ranked as Class II, meaning possible temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences with a low chance of serious outcomes.
