Senior IPS officer RA Chandra Sekhar has been appointed as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat, marking a significant transition in India’s security leadership. The 1991-batch IPS officer from the Kerala cadre will assume charge on or after August 1, 2025, succeeding Harinath Mishra, who is set to retire at the end of July.
