Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum Celebrates Jharkhand’s Recognition As India’s Best Ophthalmic Society

The Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum hosted a grand seminar on May 31, 2025, at Hotel Le Lac Sarovar Portico in Ranchi to commemorate a significant milestone—the Jharkhand Ophthalmic Society being awarded the Best Ophthalmic Society of India for 2024–25. The recognition, presented at the Asia Pacific Ophthalmology Congress in New Delhi, honors the Society’s outstanding contributions to ophthalmic education and public eye health initiatives.  

Key Highlights  

- The event was led by the Forum’s Secretary, Dr. Bharti Kashyap, and featured insightful sessions by Prof. Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Bibhuti Kashyap, and Dr. Ajay Gupta  
- Postgraduate students Dr. Anamika Chaudhary and Dr. Vatsala Kunwar from RIO RIMS presented detailed case studies during a dedicated session  
- The seminar was followed by a celebratory gathering, including a cake-cutting ceremony and group photographs with the award trophy  

Jharkhand Ophthalmic Society’s Achievements  

- The Society organized 142 Vision for Jharkhand eye care drives in the past year, benefiting thousands across the state  
- A total of 94 academic sessions were conducted to enhance ophthalmic education and research  
- 54 wet lab training workshops provided hands-on surgical experience to young ophthalmologists  

Industry Perspective  

Medical professionals and postgraduate trainees from RIO RIMS and Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital marked the occasion with enthusiasm, acknowledging the Society’s role in advancing eye care standards in India. The recognition underscores Jharkhand’s growing prominence in ophthalmic research and patient care.
