In a historic cultural initiative, the Delhi government will host a three-day ‘Kirtan Darbar’ at the iconic Red Fort from November 23 to 25, 2025. The event marks the 350th death anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru revered for his sacrifice to uphold religious freedom and human dignity.

The celebration will include soulful kirtans (devotional music), cultural performances, and tributes that reflect the Guru’s teachings of compassion, courage, and unity. A temporary museum will be set up inside the Red Fort, showcasing key moments from his life and philosophy.

Tech-powered storytelling and outreach

A highlight of the event will be a light and sound show curated by the Union Ministry of Culture, using advanced visual effects and narrative storytelling to depict Guru Tegh Bahadur’s life and martyrdom. The show will also travel across 11 districts of Delhi via mobile vans, ensuring wider public engagement.

Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture & Languages, Kapil Mishra, emphasized that the event aims to inspire national and international audiences. All programming has been entrusted to professional agencies to ensure high-quality execution and emotional impact. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the initiative as a tribute that brings the Guru’s message to “every home, every school, and every generation.”
