Reliance Secures 10 GWh Battery Capacity in India's PLI Scheme

Reliance Industries Limited has been awarded 10 GWh of Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage capacity under India's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The Ministry of Heavy Industries selected Reliance as the winner based on a quality and cost-based selection mechanism, outperforming six other bidders. This allocation, with a budget of ₹36.2 billion, is part of India's initiative to boost domestic ACC manufacturing capacity to 50 GWh. The move aligns with Reliance's clean energy push and strengthens India's position in the global battery manufacturing landscape.
