Salman Khan's Stardom Shines Bright: 'Sikandar' Outpaces SRK's 'Dunki'

Despite being labeled as Salman Khan's "worst film" by critics, 'Sikandar' has managed to outperform Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' in opening day collections, proving that Salman’s superstardom remains unshaken. Released on March 30, 'Sikandar' opened with ₹30 crore in India, surpassing 'Dunki's ₹29 crore debut from December 2023.  

While 'Sikandar' faced criticism for its weak script and subdued publicity, Salman’s loyal fan base ensured a strong start for the film. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the action-packed narrative features Salman alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Suniel Shetty, and Kajal Aggarwal. Despite negative reviews, the film has crossed ₹200 crore worldwide within just over a week, showcasing the actor's enduring appeal.  

In contrast, 'Dunki,' a social drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani, was expected to start slower due to its genre but had the advantage of SRK’s recent streak of ₹1000-crore hits. The comparable opening day figures highlight Salman’s ability to draw audiences even during a challenging phase in his career.  

This box office battle underscores the unwavering loyalty of Salman Khan's fans, who continue to support him regardless of the film’s reception. It also serves as a reminder of the unique dynamics of Bollywood stardom, where fan devotion often outweighs critical acclaim.
