Sembcorp Wins 150 MW Renewable Energy Project From SJVN With Integrated Storage

Sembcorp Industries Ltd. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra, has been awarded a 150 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project by state-run SJVN Ltd. The project is part of SJVN’s 6,000 MWh tender aimed at delivering reliable peak power through renewable sources integrated with energy storage.

The project will be developed under a build-own-operate model and is expected to significantly enhance Sembcorp’s renewable footprint in India.

Key Highlights From The Project Award:  

• The 150 MW FDRE project will integrate approximately 750 MW of solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS)  
• The project is part of SJVN’s 1,500 MW x 4-hour tender for assured peak power via Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected assets  
• Sembcorp’s total renewable capacity in India now exceeds 7.6 GW with this win  
• The project is subject to the execution of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN  
• It will support India’s grid reliability goals by providing dispatchable clean energy during peak demand hours  
• The initiative aligns with Sembcorp’s strategy to scale sustainable energy solutions across Asia
