Shilpa Medicare Backs Alveolus Bio with $2 Million Bet on Respiratory Innovation

Shilpa Medicare Ltd. has strategically invested $2 million in Alveolus Bio, a US biotech company engaged in inhalable biotherapeutics for chronic pulmonary disorders. The investment is a demonstration of the dedication of Shilpa to strengthen its market foothold in advanced drug delivery and respiratory therapy.

Important points of the investment:

Funding will enable Alveolus Bio's preclinical development of inhaled medicines for proprietary treatment of fibroblast dysfunction and neutrophilic inflammation—drivers of disease in diseases such as COPD and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Alveolus Bio, a startup based in Birmingham, Alabama, founded in 2020, has already raised a combined $4.5 million from investors such as NIH Seed, Biostack Ventures, and First Avenue Ventures.

Shilpa's investment will be used to drive Alveolus Bio's clinical advancement and regulatory interaction, including Phase I trials in early 2026.
