Sparks Fly as NTPC Faces Maharashtra's Tax Shocker

NTPC Limited has received an order from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, LAKADGANJ_501, Nagpur, Maharashtra to pay tax, interest, and penalty under the Goods and Service Tax legislations. The company intends to appeal before the first appellate authority within the stipulated time frame. NTPC has said that there is no material effect on its finances, operations, or other activities as a result of this order. The company has made this announcement in accordance with SEBI guidelines. This comes after other tax-related orders received by NTPC from different state authorities in recent months.
