Spice, Spirit, and Sports: India Flavors Olympic Movement with 2030 Youth Games Bid

In a major step towards turning its Olympic aspirations into a reality, India has formally bid to host the 2030 Youth Olympic Games. The news emerged from Sports Ministry sources on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The bid comes as a step towards India's ultimate goal of hosting the 2036 Summer Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. The move aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of putting India on the global map in the field of sports. Successful, it will be India's first hosting of an Olympic event. The bid submission follows previous assurances by Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya of India's plan to host the Youth Olympics and the Summer Games in the coming years.
