Tata Power Commissions 300 MW Solar Project in Bikaner

Tata Power strengthens renewable portfolio with landmark Rajasthan project  
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), the renewables arm of Tata Power, has successfully commissioned NHPC’s 300 MW solar project at Karnisar Bhatiyan in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project, executed under challenging desert conditions, deployed nearly 7.75 lakh solar panels using bifacial modules and advanced DCR cells. It is expected to offset more than 13.8 million tons of CO₂ emissions over its operational life.  

The plant will supply its entire output to Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL), supporting India’s clean energy transition and regional power demand. The project also created employment for over 300 local workers and engaged regional vendors, contributing to local economic activity. With this commissioning, Tata Power’s renewable portfolio has expanded to 11.6 GW, reinforcing its leadership in India’s green energy sector.
