The Future of Crypto Regulation Is Here: PwC Breaks Down US & EU Strategies

The world of cryptocurrencies is experiencing a seismic change, as noted in PwC's Global Crypto Regulation Report 2025. The report reviews the changing landscape of regulation across 50 jurisdictions, with focus on the United States' move towards transparency and the European Union's ambitious enactment of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR).

In the United States, regulators are shifting away from "regulation by enforcement" towards more transparent frameworks that encourage innovation while managing risks. Some of the most important developments include bipartisan initiatives in Congress, interagency cooperation between agencies such as the SEC and CFTC, and attention to stablecoins, tokenized securities, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
