The Lunar Quest Continues: Chandrayaan-5 Approved

The Indian government has sanctioned the ambitious Chandrayaan-5 mission, which will have a much bigger 250 kg rover to explore the surface of the Moon. This mission is in collaboration with Japan and is to boost its scientific prowess. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan made the announcement, stating the mission's improvements over earlier ones. Chandrayaan-5 comes after successful missions such as Chandrayaan-3, which attained a soft landing on the Moon's South Pole. The Chandrayaan-4 mission, scheduled for 2027, will be aimed at bringing back lunar samples. ISRO also aims to send the Gaganyaan human spaceflight program and have its own space station.
