Tiranga Rally Marks 25th Edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle, Honoring Armed Forces and Promoting Fitness

The 25th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle, celebrated as the Tiranga Cycling Rally, took place across India on June 1, bringing together over 15,000 cyclists from more than 5,000 locations. The event combined patriotism, fitness, and environmental awareness, paying tribute to the armed forces while promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy lifestyle choice.  

Nationwide Participation and Key Figures  
- Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, led the rally at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium in Delhi, joined by over 1,500 cyclists  
- Prominent personalities, including Olympic medalist Yogeshwar Dutt, cricketer Saba Karim, wrestler Sarita Mor, and Bollywood actress Sharvari, participated in the event  
- Cyclists from Jammu and Kashmir, including regions such as Poonch, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Bandipora, Shopian, and Baramulla, actively took part in the rally  

Tribute to Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor  
- The rally honored the sacrifices of Indian soldiers, particularly in light of the recent successful Operation Sindoor

- Participants can now monitor their cycling speed and distance while earning carbon credits for sustainable transportation  

Growth of the Fit India Movement  
- The Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative began in December 2024 with 150 cyclists and has grown exponentially in six months  
- The movement has expanded to over 5,500 locations, with participation from more than 3 lakh citizens  
- Organizations such as the Cycling Federation of India, Yogasana Bharat, and CultFit have played a key role in supporting the initiative
