UK and India Strengthen Energy Partnership in Fourth Dialogue

n a significant development today, the UK and India concluded their Fourth Energy Dialogue in New Delhi. UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and Indian Power Minister Manohar Lal co-chaired the meeting, focusing on advancing clean energy transitions and ensuring energy security. Key outcomes include the launch of Phase-2 of the bilateral Accelerating Smart Power & Renewable Energy in India programme and the establishment of a UK-India Offshore Wind Taskforce. The dialogue emphasized expanding cooperation in power distribution, sector reforms, and industrial energy efficiency. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable development and agreed to continue collaboration through their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with the fifth dialogue scheduled for 2026.
