Big Support for Best Institutions: Central universities get ₹16,691 crore (rise of 4.79%), IITs ₹11,349 crore (rise of 9.92%), and NITs ₹5,687 crore (rise of 12.85%). The finances of the University Grants Commission rise 33% to ₹3,336 crore, providing robust support for regulation and academic excellence.
Research and Innovation: The PM Research Fellowship grant doubles to ₹600 crore, indicating a strong thrust for research of international class. Research and innovation funding totals ₹327 crore.
Student Financial Aid & Digital Learning: Scholarships increase 13% to ₹2,160 crore, with ₹681 crore dedicated for Digital India e-learning for enlarging access and equity.
Capacity Enhancement: Five IITs will increase 6,500 seats, and 10,000 new medical seats are proposed, directly meeting the requirement of quality professionals in a knowledge economy.
Policy Initiatives: Schemes such as EQUIP, RUSA, and TEQIP emphasize quality, inclusiveness, global competitiveness, and employability, with an aim to double the Gross Enrolment Ratio and position 50 Indian institutions in the world's top 1,000.

Experts point out, however, that implementation and effective utilization of funds will prove to be important in achieving the full potential of these investments.
