Visitor’s Conference Concludes with Focus on Academic Flexibility and Innovation

The two-day Visitor's Conference 2024-25 in Rashtrapati Bhavan, chaired by President Droupadi Murmu, concluded on March 4, 2025. The conference was attended by the heads of 184 central higher education institutions to deliberate on key issues like flexibility in programmes, credit accumulation and transfer with multiple entry-exit points, international collaborations, and research with an innovation emphasis. President Murmu called for the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems into modern education and a rediscovery of India's rich scientific heritage. She also called upon institutions to take note of student welfare through moral and emotional nurturing while fostering experiential learning in the post-pandemic period. The meeting concluded with constructive suggestions to enhance educational global competitiveness. The eighth Visitor's Awards were presented for recognising innovations, research and development of technologies, including endeavours in quantum technology and sustainable aquaculture.
