When Nature Calls, But Toilets Don't Answer

Air India is facing a strange crisis after one of its Chicago-Delhi flights had to turn back in mid-air because of clogged toilets. This happened when eight out of 12 toilets were rendered unserviceable after the passengers flushed materials such as polythene bags, rags, and clothes. This compelled the Boeing 777 to turn back to Chicago, which resulted in great inconvenience to almost 300 passengers. Airline has stressed using toilets properly and helped affected customers. Air India, despite being in the midst of constant modernisation, has continued to face operational issues in the past involving improper disposal of waste in the plumbing of airplanes. The airline is requesting its customers to use lavatories in a responsible manner to avoid future occurrences of the same.
