A Greener India by 2047: Symposium Concludes with Promises of a Sustainable Future

The 'India 2047: Building a Climate-Resilient Future' conference, organized by the Indian government and Harvard University, came to a close today in New Delhi. Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh cited India's achievement, including a 36% decrease in emission intensity since 2005 and 47.1% of electricity being generated from non-fossil fuels now. The four-day conference convened experts from different disciplines to craft practical, scalable solutions for India's vision for climate resilience. Major areas of focus were the development of climate data, risk modeling, and scaling up climate finance. The conference was designed to influence India's future National Adaptation Plan and support global climate efforts.
