BMW F 450 GS Brings Adventure Spirit To India With Affordable Twin-Cylinder Power

BMW Motorrad India has expanded its adventure lineup with the launch of the F 450 GS, positioned as the entry-level GS model after the discontinuation of the G 310 GS. Manufactured locally in partnership with TVS, the bike combines affordability with premium features, making it one of the most accessible twin-cylinder ADVs in India.

Variants And Pricing

The F 450 GS is offered in three trims:

Base: ₹4.70 lakh

Exclusive: ₹4.90 lakh

GS Trophy: ₹5.30 lakh

The GS Trophy variant stands out with Racing Blue Metallic paint and off-road-focused features.

Engine And Performance

At its core is a 420cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine producing 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. A 135° crankshaft offset ensures smoother performance and a distinctive exhaust note. The bike achieves a top speed of around 165 km/h and offers a range of over 350 km with its 14-litre fuel tank. 

Design And Features

The F 450 GS carries BMW’s signature GS styling with an LED ‘X’ headlamp, tall stance, and beak-style front. It comes equipped with four riding modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, Enduro Pro), ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Segment-first features include Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless gear shifts and Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for stall-free low-speed riding.

Suspension And Braking

Built on a steel tubular frame, the bike uses USD front forks and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload and rebound damping. Braking is handled by a 310 mm front disc with Brembo 4-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc.
