It is a rare honor that was borne witness to by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, underlining Modi's visit, the first ever by an Indian Prime Minister to Brazil in 57 years.

•⁠ ⁠A Ceremonial Spectacle

PM Modi was preceded by 114 horses in his motorcade when he arrived at the presidential residence, where he was given full military honors. The ceremonial guard of honor included the playing of the national anthems of India and Brazil, which set the mood for respect and friendship.

The event also saw a beautiful rendition of Indian classical music and a Brazilian Samba Reggae performance, blending the cultural heritage of the two nations. Modi greeted the artists and the special musical tribute, which included performances of tablas and harmonium.

•⁠ ⁠Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The visit was for reinforcing the strategic alliance of India and Brazil. Modi and President Lula had bilateral talks on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, energy, mining, defense, agriculture, health, and digital infrastructure. Global issues of concern, management of disasters, and people-to-people exchanges were also covered.

Indian diaspora in Brazil turned out in large numbers at the airport to receive Modi, reflecting the close diaspora connection.

During the visit, Brazil conferred its highest civilian award, the Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross, on PM Modi, adding to the growing bonhomie between the two countries.
