High-Flying Heartland: UP's Dazzling Transformation into India's Airport Empire

Uttar Pradesh will be making aviation history by becoming the first Indian state to have five international airports. With the imminent opening of the Noida International Airport at Jewar in April 2025, UP will become a key aviation hub. The state already has three international airports at Lucknow, Varanasi, and Kushinagar, and Ayodhya's airport is almost complete.

The Noida International Airport, set to become India's biggest, will cover 5,000 acres and eventually serve up to 70 million passengers a year. The mega project, undertaken in collaboration with Swiss company Flughafen Zurich AG, seeks to decongest Delhi's IGI Airport and enhance connectivity in the region.

UP's expansion in aviation is a testament to the state's focus on infrastructure development, with more than 20 operational airports planned in the near term. The expansion is likely to greatly improve travel opportunities and economic prospects throughout the region.
