India Electronics Exports Cross Rs 2.5 Lakh Crore Mark, led by Smartphones

India electronics exports have recorded a new peak, crossing Rs 2.5 lakh crore for the very first time and led mainly by smartphone shipments. This industry is now the sector growing the quickest among India's leading 10 export categories. Exports of mobile phones stood alone at an all-time record of Rs 1.5 lakh crore during January 2025, claims the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA). The growth is being driven by the government's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) program, which has lured big global manufacturers. The US has become one of the leading markets for Indian mobile phones, with Apple among other companies being major contributors to the export boost.
