India's Green Revolution: World Bank Unleashes Unprecedented Funding and Expertise to Fuel Sustainable Growth

The World Bank will substantially raise its financial assistance to India while placing greater focus on knowledge transfer programs. Auguste Tano Kouame, World Bank Country Director for India, made a commitment to extend financing to Haryana in the next five years equal to the last 50 years of support. The bank has recently sanctioned a $1.5 billion loan to help India speed up its low-carbon energy transition and a $188.28 million loan for the economic development of Maharashtra. The World Bank is also assisting India in its position as a global development leader through its "Lighthouse India" program, promoting knowledge sharing within India and globally.
