High-end wallpaper company de Gournay has strengthened its presence in India with the launch of a beautiful new gallery in Hyderabad. The expansion, with The Charcoal Project by Sussanne Khan and designed by Gauri Khan, highlights de Gournay's determination to retain heritage craftsmanship alongside modern luxury.
The gallery consists of four atmospheric installations that speak to de Gournay's design sensibilities. They consist of the fantasy 'Rousseau' in a master bedroom and the reimagined chinoiserie 'Amazonia' in a powder room. Gauri Khan's design, a cut screen panel depicting scenes of the river in Bengal, harmoniously brings together classic Indian design with modern minimalism.
de Gournay's move into India is based on the brand's historical love of Indian art and culture. The company has been using talented Indian artisans for decades, making sure that traditional craftsmanship is at the core of its designs. This new gallery not only solidifies de Gournay's international presence but also further establishes its relationship with India's rich cultural heritage.
